Lapidus Scotland: Words Work Well for All Facilitator Gathering

Saturday 25 August 2018, 9.30 – 4.30
Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow G3 7DN
A networking event for facilitators and organisers of creative words for health and wellbeing.
Join Lapidus Scotland for a day celebrating the use of writing, storytelling, and reading for health and wellbeing in Scotland. This is an opportunity to come together with fellow words for wellbeing facilitators and organisers from across the country to share skills, experiences and ideas, and make connections.
A choice of workshops will be on offer led by contributors to our online toolkit for facilitators http://wordsworkwellscotland.co.uk/. These will provide an opportunity to see the ‘tools’ in action and explore how and where best to use them:
Ken Cockburn: ‘Hands’ – poetry and song with older people including those with dementia
Stewart Ennis: ‘Bedtime Stories for Beginners’ – creative writing with prisoners in protection
Lorna Hill: ‘A Dangerous Woman’ – creative writing with a Women’s Aid users group
Wendy Woolfson: ‘Trusting the Story’ – storytelling with adults with learning disabilities
There will be plenty of time for discussion and networking during the day.
This will be a free event with donations towards costs invited on the day.
